I live about 20 miles south of portland Oregon. At about 4:45 pm last night, everything electrical in my house started strobing on and off. I threw the main breaker to avoid blowing my computer stuff and my comms and who knows what, up. It was pitch black for as far as we could see, for several hours. I had to stop and wonder if we were being done like california - but it ended up being some circuit board along the grid shorting out and melting. (or so they said)
We have PG&E here too. We had a minor storm blow over. You can see why I thought that way. The good thing is, I've identified a couple of holes in my preps.
